Get the 2025 Met Gala Look: Celebrity Skincare and Makeup Insp

From Rihanna's Pregnancy reveal to Idris Damson's F1 racing-inspired Tommy Hilfiger transformer look, The Met Gala was a night of iconic nostalgia. Hosted on May 5th, the Gala's theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style paid homage to Blackdandyism's tradition of elegance, self-expression, and resistance through fashion. Not only was this reflected in the countless beautifully crafted outfits at the Met, but it was also shown through the skincare and makeup each celebrity showed off.

                                              The Skin

Celebrities like Laura Harrier captivated us with their glowy and supple skin. Her beautiful Gap couture outfit reflected the elegance and uniqueness of dandyism while allowing her skin to capture the simple yet beautiful glow that accentuated her features. Her skin reflected the theme as it showed elegance and allowed her outfit to truly shine.

                                                      The Makeup

Cardi B’s makeup took the spotlight with her bold green eyeshadow and glossy nude lip that perfectly matched with her green suit. Her makeup stood out in terms of the theme because it reflected her self-expression, making the makeup a part of her outfit. She always stands out at events with her unique and colorful outfits, but her beautifully simple base makeup with her eyeshadow that always stands out is what sets Cardi B differently from other attendees. She is never scared to step back from truly following a theme or going the extra mile with celebratory makeup.

                                                       Skincare

The Met Gala has always highlighted fashion and clothing as a big part of beauty and elegance, but this year, makeup and skincare bases were a big part of celebrating the theme. Glossy skin with lightweight foundations and tinted moisturizers. Glittery body oils, energizingeye patches, calming exfoliators for red carpet ready skin.

                                                   Finishing Touch

Self-expression is not only shown through clothing, but makeup allows these celebrities to test the limits of their outfits, together with beautifully natural base makeup and a pop of fun when it comes to their eyes and lips. This year, both makeup and hair allowed celebrities to express their idea of Black dandyism through elegance that stands out. From pastel eye shadows, deep fruity matte and glossy lips, high coverage gel blushes, this year's MET Gala looks combined youthfully fresh, elegantly edgy and subtly dramatic beauty looks.
